Investigative Group GI-17 / Setting up and composition PDF Print E-mail

The Researching Group on European Criminal Justice (Gi-17) is composed of young researchers specalised in European Criminal Law and Criminal Proceedings from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, other Spanish Universities (Valladolid, Burgos, Madrid) and some Institutes and Universities of other EU MS.

Gi-17 was establsiehd in May 2007 in the framework of the Project I+D “The Hague Programme and judicial criminal cooperation in criminal matters: concepts, principles and instruments" financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. 

Its main purpose is to contribute to the promotion of the European Judicial Area through the researching and discussion of the concepts, principles and legal instruments adopted by the European institutions competent in criminal matters, the publication of its results in scientific reviews and collective books. 
 
 Gi-17 has consolidated in Toledo a discussion forum in Criminal Law of the European Union, composed by Professors specialised in Criminal Law and Criminal Proceedings of the European Union, judges, prosecutors and experts from the Ministries of Justice and Home Affairs of the EU MS.

it is called “Spanish working party in criminal matters” – Swp-crim.

A specialised section on Data Protection in Criminal Proceedings have been setting up in the framework of the Swp-crim, composed of prestigious Spanish and European experts on Data Protection in the IIIrd pillar of the European Union.

The Specialised Section is now executing the Project DPiCP with the support and co-financing of the European Commission under the Programme Criminal Justice 2008
